Judge Mohamed Abdel Salam, Secretary-General of the Higher Committee of Human Fraternity, held an interview with Al-Masry Al-Youm, in which he discussed many aspects related to the Human Fraternity Document and the Zayed Prize for Human Fraternity.
When asked about the Emerging Peacemakers, the role of youth, and their participation in achieving the goals of the document as the future of the world, Abdel Salam replied: “We believe in the importance of involving young people in the efforts of implementing the Human Fraternity Document. We believe in their innovative powers and capabilities, and we are keen to invest these powers for the good of humanity. The idea of the Emerging Peacemakers Forum is that they are a nucleus of a global youth mobility which targets all young people from all over the world and of all religions and cultures. It was launched by the Council of Muslim Elders and Al-Azhar. This exceptional team has participated with creative ideas; they are all working hard and sincerely to spread the principles of the Human Fraternity Document. We see them as a fundamental and effective partner in all our initiatives, and we count on them a lot in working for peace, justice and truth for all human beings. They are a promising group of young people, and I am sure that they will be an inspiring model for young people.
It is noteworthy that Judge Mohamed Abdel Salam accompanied the Emerging Peacemakers during their journey to London and had conversations with them in several discussion sessions on the issues of tolerance and coexistence.
