As a part of celebrating the International Day of Human Fraternity, Al-Azhar Al-Sharif organized a group of interactive discussion workshops on the “Human Fraternity Document”, days before the second anniversary of its signing by His Eminence Prof. Ahmed Al-Tayeb, the Grand Imam of Al-Azhar, and His Holiness Pope Francis, Pope of the Vatican, during the International Conference on Human Fraternity, which was held on February 4, 2019, and hosted by the United Arab Emirates.
Interactive sessions were organized via the Zoom app, with the participation of a group of Al-Azhar Global Observatory for Combating Extremism, the Emerging Peacemakers, Students of Al-Azhar University, and representatives of the Evangelical Church, the Coptic Orthodox Church, the Coptic Catholic Patriarch, the Mediterranean Youth Foundation, and the Enactus Al-Azhar team. They discussed the most prominent Issues related to the Human Fraternity Document, including citizenship and coexistence, women and children, human and moral values, freedom of belief, and justice as the basis for a decent life. These workshops resulted in a set of recommendations and initiatives that will be launched to promote those issues and achieve the objectives of the Document.
