A joint statement of peacemakers from more than 25 countries about the bloody events in Gaza

We are the youth of the Emerging Peacemakers Forum (EPF), which includes young people from more than 25 countries around the world. We work with a vision of “peace and tolerance for a bright future for all.” However, over the last few days, we have been trying to communicate with our colleague in the Gaza Strip, but so far, we have been unsuccessful in getting through to her due to the continuous bombing that resulted in hundreds of martyrs and injured.

With hearts and souls tormented by pain from the cruel scenes witnessed in Gaza over the past few days, we condemn in the strongest terms the aggression against the Palestinian people, which contradicts all human values and international norms. We call on all countries and international organizations to move quickly to provide full protection for civilians in addition to the immediate ceasing of all forms of escalation, while emphasizing the necessity of opening urgent humanitarian routes to deliver medical and relief aid to the residents of the Gaza Strip.

What is happening now in Gaza, along with the shameful international silence over the war crimes, ethnic cleansing and displacement being committed there, negatively affects the dreams and ambitions of our youth from all over the world and from different cultures, religions and nationalities, and hinders the peace efforts that we seek to spread throughout the world. Therefore, we call on all active international powers to assume their humanitarian responsibility towards this cause, and we also call on all organizations concerned with peace to intervene immediately and urgently to stop this humanitarian catastrophe.
