Islam and West; Diversity and Integrity

About this Event

His Eminence Prof. Ahmed Al-Tayeb, the Grand Imam of Al-Azhar held an international forum, in cooperation with the Nizami Ganjavi International Center (NGIC), under the title “Islam and the West; Diversity and Integration”, aiming to study and research the issues of the contemporary reading of the relationship between Islam and the West, as Islam is not alien to the West, nor does it represent a group of strange beliefs “alien to the West,” rather it is now the second religion in Europe, and it is embraced by a large number of citizens in many Western countries.
The Forum discussed the contemporary issues related to the relationship between Islam and Europe. It included eight sessions covering several elements, the most prominent of which are: “The Evolution of the Relationship between Islam and the West”, “Tension between Muslims and the Other Europeans; Citizenship is the Solution”, and “Demography, Ideology, Migration and the Future”. The Forum also reviewed some of the successful coexistence experiences, such as the initiative of the “Egyptian Family House” and the “Swiss experience”.
