Emerging Peacemakers Forum: Youth Round for Dialogue between the East and the West.

About this Event

As a part of the dialogue rounds between the East and the West, which were launched by His Eminence Prof. Ahmed Al-Tayeb, the Grand Imam of Al-Azhar, several years ago, with the aim of building bridges of dialogue and cooperation between the East and the West, His Eminence agreed, during the previous round of dialogue between Al-Azhar and the Archbishop of Canterbury, in Abu Dhabi, that an elite group of young people, would lead a round of dialogue between the East and the West, in an attempt to coordinate the efforts and unify the visions concerning the contemporary issues.

The University of Cambridge, in the United Kingdom, organized an intensive program for the participants aiming at maximizing their effective influence in their societies and raising their ability to contribute to peacemaking all over the world.

The forum also witnessed an open discussion between youth and religious leaders, led by His Eminence Prof. Ahmed Al-Tayeb, the Grand Imam of Al-Azhar and Chairman of the Muslim Council of Elders, and Dr. Justin Welby, Archbishop of the British Canterbury Church, to listen to the visions, experiences, initiatives and proposals of the young people, with the aim that religious institutions would adopt and support them, discuss the ways for utilizing them, develop practical plans for their implementation, and spread their benefits over the East and the West.
